Eye care professionals specialize in understanding how the human eye really works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect your vision – many of which do not have obvious symptoms. Eye doctors know how age and risk factors affect vision over time for young and old, and they understand the benefits and features of corrective lenses including eyeglasses and contacts.
Our optometrist takes the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing and treating potential vision problems.
Meet our doctor:
Dr. Mark Gotcher was raised in Tucson Arizona. He worked as an underground copper miner for twelve years and eventually earned a pipe fitter journeyman certificate. As the mining industry declined he decided to make a career change that was a tad bit safer. After completing his optometric physician training at Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon, the Doc, his wife Margot, and son Kristopher returned to Arizona practicing in Flagstaff and Sedona before deciding to return to Oregon in 1999. Dr. Gotcher assumed the practice of the retiring Dr. Charles Radebaugh in December of 1999 that is now Advanced EyeCare Associates. The office provides vision, medical, surgical and emergency eye services. He enjoys seeing and getting to know patients of all ages and is compassionate about providing quality eye care to the Grove and surrounding area residents.
Since moving to Cottage Grove Dr. Gotcher has become active in civic activities and enjoys the small town atmosphere and the quality of life that Cottage Grove has to offer. In his off time he takes pleasure in outdoor activities such as fly-fishing, camping, hunting, vegetable gardening and golf. He feels blessed to have the opportunity of living and working in such a great community.
